Step by Step Paint Process
of helmet for TransWorld Motocross Magazine's

The brand new white Shoei VFX-DT helmet is
prepped, masked, and primed.
Then it is shot with a large silver metallic flake.
|
 
Next the helmet gets kandied in gold,
clear coated, let set to cure, and prepped again.
then, masking and striping is laid down in the areas the gold flake will be
seen. |
  
Sections of black, metallic blue, and
Kandy blue are sprayed and more pinstriping and masking is laid down. |

Always writing notes as good ideas flow,
Never know when you'll be interupted and forget where you are... |
  
Once the background striping is finished, the
mural images are masked off and sprayed white. |
  
With computer cut masking, hand masking, and
free hand techniques,
the Geisha is laid out...
Pinstriping is used along the edge of the Geisha image, flowers,
decorative fan, and kimono. |

Masking is laid out over Samurai. |
  
Samurai is sprayed with its natural copper
oxide green, airbrushed, and pinstriped. |
 
Tokyo temple masked, airbrushed, and
pinstriped. |

Final touches on the country's silhouette. |
   
DBcustoms logos are applied, all final hand
striping is laid down, and the helmet and parts are clearcoated.
